13 Original Colonies
Project Idea
Students work in and out of class to produce a colony brochure. They bring their brochure and the information they've accumulated to the fair and set up a "booth" - just a small station at their desk. Small groups of students visit the fair at a time while those at their booths share information with the visitors. To celebrate the fair bring in Colonial Tea Bread, hot tea, and hot/made from scratch applesauce in my crock pot. Make all of the students take at least a small taste! We also play Colonial music in the background during the fair which usually gets a few students up and dancing...trying their hand at some old fashioned square dancing!
